A Natural Birth with Sam.
Support from your third trimester through to two weeks postpartum.
Here's how I'll support you:
WhatsApp support for emotional reassurance, practical guidance and answers to your questions during business hours.
3 Prenatal Consultations
1. Let's Connect
We begin with a relaxed coffee date or online meeting to get to know one another, chat about your pregnancy, answer your questions, and discuss how I can best support you throughout your birth journey.
2. Coping Skills for Early Labour
We'll prepare you and your birth partner for the early stages of labour, focusing on practical comfort measures and coping techniques to help you stay calm, confident and comfortable at home before it's time for me to join you in active labour. We'll also discuss when to call me and when it's the right time to head to hospital.
3. Personalising Your Birth
Together we'll create a birth plan that reflects your wishes and helps you approach labour with confidence. We'll discuss your birth preferences, your partner's role, communication with your medical team, and how we can work together to create a calm, positive and well-supported birth experience. This is also the perfect opportunity to ask any final questions before the big day.
OBGYN Appointment
I'll accompany you to one appointment with your obstetrician at around 36 weeks. This gives us an opportunity to discuss your birth preferences with your doctor, answer any final questions, and allows your birth team to become familiar with one another before the big day.
Labour & Birth Support
I'll join you once you're in established labour (usually from around 5 cm dilated) and remain by your side, providing continuous emotional, physical and practical support until your baby is born. I'll guide you and your birth partner through each stage of labour, helping you feel calm, confident and supported every step of the way.
With your permission, I'll also quietly capture some of the precious moments of your labour and birth, allowing you to relive memories that often become a blur in the excitement of welcoming your baby.
The Golden Hour
I'll remain with you for the first hour after birth, helping you establish breastfeeding, facilitate skin-to-skin contact, and support those precious first moments with your baby.
Hospital Ward Visit
I'll visit you in hospital the following day to support you with newborn care, provide further breastfeeding support, or assist with expressing if your baby is in the NICU, and answer any questions as you begin your parenting journey.
Postpartum Home Visit
Within two weeks of going home, I'll visit you for a comprehensive postpartum consultation. Together we'll check in on both Mum and Baby, address any concerns around feeding, latching, newborn care or emotional wellbeing, and make sure your family is settling in with confidence.
