Virtual Doula Consultations

Personalised pregnancy, birth and postpartum support, wherever you are.

Sometimes you don’t need an entire course or a full doula package.

You simply need someone experienced to sit beside you, answer your questions and help you work out what comes next.

Our 45-minute Virtual Doula Consultations give pregnant and new mums access to personalised, one-to-one support from the comfort of home. Whether you are preparing for birth, working through a particular decision or finding your feet during the early weeks with your baby, we are here to help you feel informed, supported and more confident.

What can we help you with?

Each consultation is shaped around your individual needs. You can choose one of our focused consultation topics or bring us the questions and concerns that are currently weighing on your mind.

Birth Planning

Create a flexible, personalised birth plan that reflects your preferences, priorities and individual circumstances. We will help you understand your options, consider different possibilities and prepare questions to discuss with your maternity care provider.

Birth Partner Preparation

A practical consultation for partners who want to know how to offer meaningful support during labour and birth. We will cover comfort measures, advocacy, emotional support and how to become an active, reassuring part of the birth team.

Partners are warmly encouraged to attend this consultation with you.

Natural Pain Relief and Labour Comfort

Explore practical ways to work with labour, including breathing, movement, positioning, massage, counter-pressure, water, relaxation and creating a supportive birth environment.

VBAC Preparation

Personalised preparation for mums considering or planning a vaginal birth after caesarean. We will help you explore your preferences, prepare helpful questions and create a flexible plan for the different ways your birth may unfold.

Induction Preparation

If an induction has been recommended or scheduled, we will talk you through what the process may involve, the questions you can ask and how you and your partner can prepare physically, practically and emotionally.

Gentle Caesarean Birth Preparation and Planning

Whether your caesarean is planned or simply one of the possibilities you would like to prepare for, we can help you understand what to expect and explore the choices that may still be available to you.

Together, we can create caesarean birth preferences that support a calm, positive and family-centred experience wherever circumstances allow.

Breastfeeding Positioning and Latch

Receive practical support with breastfeeding positioning, attachment and latch. We can observe a feed online, explore possible adjustments and help you feel more comfortable and confident.

If there are concerns about baby’s health, weight gain, hydration, jaundice, oral function or your breast health, we may recommend an in-person assessment or referral to an appropriate healthcare professional.

Preparing for Breastfeeding

A focused antenatal consultation covering what to expect during the first feeds, how milk production works, positioning and attachment, signs that feeding is going well and where to find help if it isn’t.

Postpartum Planning

Prepare for life after birth, not only the birth itself. Together, we can create a realistic plan for rest, recovery, feeding, meals, visitors, household responsibilities, partner support and caring for you while you care for your baby.

General Postpartum Support

The early weeks can feel beautiful, exhausting, confusing and overwhelming, sometimes all before breakfast. This session gives you a safe, supportive space to ask questions, talk through what you are experiencing and receive practical guidance for navigating recovery, feeding, newborn care, changing family dynamics and the emotional transition into motherhood.

Newborn Care and Settling

Talk through your questions about newborn behaviour, crying, winding, soothing, sleep expectations, feeding cues, day-to-day care and finding a gentle rhythm that works for your family.

Making Sense of Your Birth Experience

If your birth did not unfold as expected, this supportive consultation gives you space to talk through what happened, organise your questions and consider what additional support you may need.

This is a supportive reflection session and does not replace counselling or specialised birth-trauma therapy.

Something Else?

Pregnancy and new motherhood rarely fit into neat little boxes.

If you have a question or concern that is not listed here, you are still welcome to book. Tell us what you would like support with when completing the booking form, and we will let you know if a Virtual Doula Consultation is the right fit.

Personalised support from people who understand this season

At Bub Club, we know that information alone is not always enough.

Sometimes you need someone to listen to the full story, help you separate the important information from all the noise and remind you that you are allowed to ask questions, understand your choices and participate in decisions about your care.

Our support is practical, compassionate, evidence-informed and centred around you, your baby and your individual circumstances.

FAQ's

Can my partner attend?

Absolutely. Partners are especially encouraged to attend birth planning, birth partner, induction, VBAC and caesarean preparation consultations.

Do I need to prepare anything?

Once you book, you will be asked to tell us briefly what you would like help with. You are welcome to bring your questions, birth preferences, feeding concerns or any information from your healthcare provider that you would like to discuss.

Can I book more than one consultation?

Yes. You can book a single focused session or arrange additional consultations if you would like ongoing support throughout pregnancy or after your baby arrives.

Is this the same as having a birth doula?

No. A Virtual Doula Consultation offers focused preparation and support but does not include attendance during labour or birth, on-call care or continuous doula support.

Can you provide medical advice or diagnose a problem?

No. Our consultations provide education, emotional support and practical guidance. They do not replace assessment, diagnosis or treatment from your doctor, midwife, paediatrician, lactation consultant, psychologist or other healthcare provider.

What if I need urgent help?

Virtual consultations are not an emergency or medical triage service. If you are concerned about your health or your baby’s health, experience urgent symptoms, or notice reduced fetal movement, contact your maternity care provider or nearest medical facility immediately.

Need a little support with what comes next?

You don’t have to work through every question alone.

Book a private Virtual Doula Consultation and let us help you feel calmer, clearer and better prepared for the next step in your pregnancy or motherhood journey.
